About Juice in the City
Launched the day after Mother's Day 2010 because neither of us got a damn thing we really wanted, Juice in the City aims to bring moms what they really want: insanely good deals on crazy-fun things to do. We are not simple people. We like to breastfeed in public and also go hip hop dancing in tight shirts. We like to do arts and crafts with our kids and also spice up our lives with "Jersey Shore" girls nights in spray tanning parties. Oh, and we love a good massage, wine tasting, meal out on the town, or wacky adventure with the family. We never, ever, turn down a good time. You shouldn't have to either.
Non-Moms at the Corporate Office
Our team of non-moms behind the scenes makes all the mom-fun possible. We are a small, nimble team of slightly nutty people working our asses off, so if you do have any problem whatsoever, contact us. We care intensely about your experience and will jump to help you quickly.
Moms on the Street
Our team of moms who identify, source and write about the deals we bring you each day are referred to lovingly by us as "Local Business Consultants" or LBCs. These moms are local influencers who frequent the businesses we feature and know first hand how great they are. They make a nice percentage of each deal sold, and they need to feed their families, so please buy the deals, okay?
Juice in the City $3 Million Groupmom Fund for Local Discovery and Business Stimulation
Juice in the City has created a $3 million Groupmom Fund to support local business stimulation and local blogging activity. Moms experiencing and providing deals on Juice in the City have the opportunity to be compensated for using local businesses. The bloggers who share the message about the local deals are compensated for getting the word out about the opportunity to support local businesses. Visit www.juiceinthecity.com/groupmom for more information.
Executive
Philippa Smith - Founder, CEO
Philippa is one of the co-founders of Juice in the City and is a perpetually optimistic Brit transplant who cannot seem to stop herself from ending all her emails with the word "Cheers". Philippa originally came to the States on vacation from England in the early nineties. After carefully considering her options (i.e. after meeting an incredibly buff American bloke) she decided to stay, and after three children and nearly 20 years later she may possibly be New York City's longest resident. Before plunging into the world of entrepreneurship, Philippa worked in the entertainment industry for more than 13 years, including at HBO. There, she was a key force in the launch of HBO's new international and domestic distribution businesses via the Internet, satellite, cable and mobile. After leaving HBO, Philippa co-founded JuiceBoxJungle, a new media network that reached over 2 million moms a month. Since co-founding Juice in the City with Sarah Eisner in 2010 she has been acting as Chief Executive Officer with her fingers in every pie. Philippa went to Cambridge University, grew up all over the world and loves wrestling with her boys and building marble runs in her living room.
Sarah Eisner - Founder, CMO
Sarah Eisner is a Northern California native, anally on-time, sarcastic, and silly person who is also a co-founder of Juice in the City. A serial entrepreneur seasoned at multitasking and letting her house "go to pot", Sarah loves building brands from the ground up and creating buzz. She spent the first ten years of her career utilizing her Stanford tech education in product marketing and marketing strategy at Cisco Systems. After the birth of her two insanely active sons, she left Cisco for a tech startup and to start her own photography business, and then just a short year later, in 2006, left those two things behind to co-run an innovative baby bottle company, Adiri, with two other local moms. Adiri reached the shelves of Target, Whole Foods, Babies R Us and many other national sellers, but alas, the bottle that looked like a breast was not to be. Co-founding and acting as CMO of Juice in the City turns out to be a lot more fun than building a baby bottle, with ample opportunities for Sarah to attend hip hop classes and tanning parties.
Beth Lahaie - VP of Sales
Beth has spent enough time in the corporate world to appreciate her new role as VP of Sales on her way to leading thousands of women across America to an exciting career with Juice in the City. Beth has spent 19 years at AT&T, Genesys, Nuance and several startups traveling extensively across the United States in various software sales roles. Born in Oklahoma, she's a true Native American with lots of Irish spirit that graduated Texas A&M and settled in a suburb near Dallas that bleeds Maroon (Go WildCats!), where her son is now attending Plano Senior High School. She's married to a high tech guy and feels blessed to have her own live-in computer tech. Beth loves her free time to go out with the girls, volunteer at the school, or chill with the teens!
